Employee matching a donation is a program offered by many companies where they match the charitable donations made by their employees to eligible non-profit organizations.
Here’s how it typically works:
- Employee Donation: An employee makes a donation to a qualifying non-profit or charity of their choice.
- Company Match: The employee submits a request to their employer to match the donation. The company then donates an amount equal to (or sometimes a multiple of) the employee’s donation to the same organization.
For example, if an employee donates $100 to a charity and their company has a 1:1 matching program, the company will also donate $100 to that charity, effectively doubling the donation.
This is a way for companies to support their employees’ philanthropic efforts and contribute to causes that are important to them. It also amplifies the impact of the employees’ charitable contributions.
